The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized exam administered by colleges and universities in the United States as part of the admissions process. Its goal is to assess students' critical-reading, analytical, and writing skills, which they have gained during their academic careers and are judged vital for success in college. The College Board, a non-profit corporation, owns and administers the test.
